This past Saturday Louisville Legend Darrell Griffith hosted his seventh annual healthy hoops basketball camp for kids battling asthma.
"You can die from it; you can have a heart attack so you should learn to keep an inhaler," said 11 year old Ashon Wray.
Darrell Griffith commented, "That's the whole purpose you know asthma if it's not managed right it can take you out and we want to make sure in this community that kids who have asthma are not limited, they can still play sports."
Darrell along with other local basketball celebs taught asthmatic children ages seven to 13 live healthy active lives.
"It's a pleasure for Darrell Griffith to ask us to come here and for him to put on this thing for kids is something great for the city of Louisville," said Louisville Women's Basketball player Sara Hammond.
Bellarmine Head Coach Scotty Davenport exclaimed, "If these young people understand through this education that asthma is no obstacle to them, it's not going to detour them from playing basketball or being a good student or being a good person then my hat is off to Darrell."
