LIST: Road closures, alternate routes for NCAA Tournament
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – With the NCAA taking over the KFC Yum! Center, Louisville Metro police are asking spectators to use alternative routes.
Lt. Joe Seelye, with the LMPD Traffic Unit, said, "We're going to have spectators visiting, those with the NCAA visiting, players bands and all those things are going to overwhelm Third Street and we're asking people to use alternatives."
While the Third and Second Street ramps will be open, drivers cannot get off on River Road which will present a challenge.
Seelye provided the following alternatives:
- “If you're coming from I-64 to downtown, try using the Story exit. Story will take you to Main and you can work your way across there.”
- “Those who are parking in the Third Street garage and the Fourth Street Galt House garage, Third Street's a good resource for you to do that.”
- “If you're trying to get elsewhere, the Ninth Street off ramp which will be big for us. We will have resources there working the light buttons, helping people get on and off the ramp quickly.”
