Woman killed in head-on crash near West Point ID'd

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman was killed Sunday in a head-on crash at Katherine Station Road that shut down all lanes of Dixie Highway.

Delores Arnold, 74, was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:21 p.m. after the crash near West Point, the Jefferson County Deputy Coroner said.

According to the coroner, she was traveling south on Dixie Highway when her Honda Accord drifted into the northbound lanes and hit a Dodge Dart head-on. She died of multiple blunt force injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Toxicology and other tests are still pending.

Resthaven on Bardstown Road is handling arrangements.

One passenger in the Dodge was taken to the hospital, said Louisville Metro police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. Their condition is unknown.

All lanes of Dixie Highway reopened to traffic shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
