Pregnancy simulator used by Ford engineers

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - When you're pregnant even the most basic tasks become a challenge. That's why Ford built a suit called "The Empathy Belly" Pregnancy Simulator.
The suit helps simulate what it's like for pregnant women behind the wheel.

The simulator adds about 30 pounds and the company requires its engineers to use it when they design new cars.
Ford representative Judd Templin said, "We use this suit and we actually make our engineers put it on so they can see what it's like to be a pregnant female and they can build our next cars better and make them even easier for a pregnant woman to use."
According to Ford, more pregnant women are on the road in July than any other month.
