Passersby credited with saving 18-year-olds after crash
COXS CREEK, KY (WAVE) - Several passersby are credited with possibly saving the lives of three young men involved in a fiery crash in Nelson County.
Sheriff's deputies responding to the Samuels Loop area of Coxs Creek on Friday found a burning vehicle that had overturned. Sgt. Michael Clark said three 18-year-old men were located outside the vehicle suffering from several injuries.
The driver was identified as Jacob Frey of Bardstown. Dennis Spalding and Sam Norman of Nelson County were passengers.
Clark said several bystanders assisted in removing the men from the vehicle and performed CPR before emergency crews arrived.

"It is believed by the Nelson County Sheriff's deputies that the response from those individuals was extremely instrumental in a positive outcome in this collision," Clark said.
All three men were taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital by Nelson County EMS.
Speed and wet road conditions apparently contributed to the crash, Clark said.
