LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — A Jennings County man is charged with breaking into multiple homes.

Deputies from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Thursday evening of a suspicious man attempting to force entry into a home in the area of Hollyton Court in North Vernon.

At the scene, police spoke with the caller, who provided Ring camera footage of the incident.

While deputies were searching the area for the suspect, Jennings County dispatch received several more calls reporting a man with the same description attempting to break into homes.

The man was found shortly after at another address on Elderberry Way and was identified as 26-year-old Mikell Hardesty of North Vernon. Police said Hardesty showed signs of being under the influence of drugs and was taken to the Jennings County Jail.

Investigators received reports that, in total, Hardesty allegedly entered two homes and attempted to enter two others.

He is charged with four counts of residential entry and one count of public intoxication.
