Kentucky business owner arrested for theft in 2 Indiana counties

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A Kentucky business owner was arrested on Wednesday on a felony theft charge after being arrested on the same charge in Washington County earlier in January, according to Indiana State Police.
An investigation started in September after a Floyd County homeowner contacted ISP and told them about 29-year-old Shawn Hull of Buffalo, KY possibly conducting illegal activities.
ISP said Hull is one of two owners of Power Home Exteriors LLC.
The homeowner told police they had paid Hull more than $15,000 for window replacements in April 2023, but no work ever started, according to the release.
In November, a homeowner from Washington County told ISP they had also paid Power Home Exteriors $7,000 of a $14,000 estimate for window replacement. No work was started in this case either, officials said.
Both homeowners said their calls went unanswered when they tried calling the company.
During the investigation, police learned Hull had listed the business online with a Louisville address, but there was no actual business at that location. Officials also learned that the company never ordered or purchased window replacements in either case, according to the release.
Hull was arrested for theft in Washington County on Jan. 11, and he was arrested on the same charge on Jan. 24 in Floyd County.
