LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — With Halloween one week away, spooky season took over Louisville’s NuLu strip for the free HalLOUweenfest and City Festival.

Vendors, costumes and live performances packed East Market Street for the parade, known as one of the 10 best Halloween parades in the country.

Festivalgoers said the weather was perfect for dressing up and celebrating.

“We’re just out here having fun enjoying the nice weather, see everybody out in their costumes listening to some live music ... enjoying wearing costumes in public,” said festival attendee Rob Day.

The event was originally scheduled for Oct. 10, but had to be rescheduled due to weather.

It was a day of family-friendly fun as the festival celebrated its 23rd year.
