LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Parents - when you drop your kids off for class, you may want to think twice about what you're wearing.

The back-and-forth battle about dress code is nothing new. But, when a teacher in the UK recently sent the following letter home to parents, it caused an international firestorm.

The letter reads in part, "I have noticed that there has been an increasing tendency for parents to escort their children to and from school while still wearing their pajamas and on occasion, even slippers... Could I please ask when you are escorting your children, you take the time to dress appropriately in day wear that is suitable for the weather conditions?"

Parents across the globe were fired up. Some said yoga pants and sweatshirts were even looked down upon. Other parents said they're tired of seeing everything from short shorts to exposed stomachs and PJs.

The clothing controversy didn't stop there. The Today Show a school board member in Florida pushed to pass the "dress code for parents" initiative. The issue didn't wear well with the board, and they squashed it.
