LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - LMPD used a drone to help find a suspect after a community member called in suspicious activity, according to a post on Facebook.

On Monday, March 2, officers responded to the 5200 block of Dixie Highway on a report of a masked person on a bicycle carrying bolt cutters near a storage facility.

After launching the drone, officers found the suspect nearly a mile away.

Police stopped 37-year-old Christopher Hall in the 4900 block of Dixie Highway. Hall told police that he did not break into the storage facility.

Officers then asked Hall for identification and told him that it was illegal to give false identifying information to a police officer.

As police tried to confirm if the information was correct, Hall got on his bike and said he was leaving, according to the arrest citation.

Hall was detained soon after and said he had given the officers false information because he had warrants.

Hall is charged with fleeing or evading police and giving officers false information. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, March 11.
